ABOUT THE PROJECT
Building Detectives will be based at the Georgian Group in Fitzroy Square, W1, with visits to the Sir John Soanes and the Foundling Museums. The Project will focus on post-medieval archaeology, adopting a detection theme, where children will act as detectives to explore and unravel 8th century society, life and architecture. They will have a unique opportunity to discover the skills of historic house builders, and will find out more about the history of Georgian buildings in a range of practical and hands-on ways, by handling old materials, printing and through games, and by practising the skills of plaster moulding and brick making.
